The fellow who wrote this tune (and this one) has left us at the age of 93. Those numbers were very, very good to him, as he was the first to admit. "Two finger snaps and you live in Bel-Air." Rest in peace, our clever friend.
Jack, thanks for posting this. What a happy, silly and harmless way to make a fortune.
"Hey, we've got this new sit-com about a super smart dolphin like Lassie but everything's in the ocean not a farm. We need a catcharooni song! Get Vic Mizzy on the horn!!"
Another indispensible industry guy behind the scenes ala Mel Blanc.
I don't know, but I bet he wrote the themes for Mr. Ed, The Pruitts of Southampton, My Mother The Car and F-Troop.
"Green Acres" is a monster, particularly since they had Eddie Albert, the show's co-star, available to sing it. He nailed the opening, and Eva croaked along serviceably on the rest. The arrangement is pretty amazing as well. Listen to the New York traffic in the second verse.
And note the two thumps of the pitchfork, to go with the two snaps in "The Addams Family." Vic Mizzy.

And Don't forget 'The Ghost and Mr. Chicken"!

Both the Addams family and Green Acres theme songs are stuck in my head from when I was a kid. I can sing them both, in their entirety, on demand.
