Funeral for a friend
Almost a month ago, we declared here that true health care reform is dead. This story, published today, would appear to confirm that analysis.
But frustrated progressives, remember who your friends were on this one. And take due note that Ron Wyden (R-N.Y.) wasn't one of them.

Now the Feds are considering passage of a law that stops it from lying to itself. This is what happens when the Feds put out a program to compete with the private sector.

I figured out that Wyden was no longer with us (if he ever was) when he started referring to inheritance taxes as "death taxes" shortly after marrying a NY publishing heiress.
I ponder whether Wyden would return to Oregon to live if he left office. I strongly suspect not; I'd bet his SugarMama wouldn't put up with it. Ergo, I don't think he is an Oregonian any longer.
He can be turned out of office at any time. Democrats would be advised to do so at the next primary for his seat. But I'll bet they won't; they'll just keep him for the senority, despite the fact that he's tainted.
