Nice and easy does it
Heads keep rolling in Canby, and the FBI is busting chops, because a police officer down that way allegedly took steroids and tried to protect the people he was getting them from. Supremely dumb and dangerous conduct, but why is this such a federal case? If I had to guess, I'd think there were some steroid boys in every police force in the state, including trigger-happy Portland. And if the feds would like to go after some police misconduct, popping steroids is fairly small potatoes compared to some other stories we've seen.

OK, did I miss something? FBI is off diddling around in Canby when there is such rampant, blatant corruption right in Portland's City Hall just 5 blocks away from them? sheesh. Unbelievable.

The FBI loves a good government corruption case almost as much as a good labor union corruption or RICO case. If someone tips them off, and they find the tip of merit, then you bet your ass that they are gonna follow through with however many agents, lawyers, cameras, Title III wiretaps, and every other tool in their massive collection it takes to bring it to court.
It's what they do, and why they exist.
Since when is it bad that they are prosecuting the law, anyway? You really think that the FBI doesn't have the resources to look into this garbage in Canby, while pursuing just about anything else their jurisdiction and bosses want to at the same time?
The FBI field office has resources that the largest of cities' police departments could only dream of.

Now, if only the FBI could be persuaded to investigate corporate misdeeds that cause the bulk of us with our retirement in 401Ks to get screwed while the corp execs float out on their golden parachutes..... Oh, wait, the FBI only screws little people or those who mess over rich folks....
