A Saturday in August
Quite the scene yesterday at the Portland Parks Summer Swim League City Championship Meet, which was held at the gigantic aquatic center way out at Mount Hood Community College:
Congratulations to all the athletes and coaches, who put on a truly impressive show.

My daughters used to swim in all kinds of meets. One year at the State Games out at Mt. Hood, they finished the meet with a relay in which the swimmers were each supposed to push a block of ice from one end of the pool to the other. It was so hot the ice melted before the end of the first leg. Good times.

(LOL, now that you mention it, guess where that water in the pool came from?)
Ahhhh, refreshing to drink or swim in!

Yesterday was none too hot. Lots of chattering teeth for most of it.
