Why not a plain ticket to sunny, warm Hawaii? Hard to get a bus ticket back to the mainland!

Then it's no big surprise Portland has so many homeless people, with all the write ups the NY Times on how wonderful a place Portland is to live. Now I see why PDX needs to enlarge and build a second runway.

What a great idea. I thought of it myself a long time ago. For instance a non refundable ticket from Portland to Salt Lake City is only $76.80 on Greyhound. Considering this city council wants to spend $40 Million on a day shelter center instead that amount of money could purchase 52,083 tickets. That would be a 20 year supply. Or purchase 20,000 tickets and give each person a $100 in cash spending money. Heck, we could end homelessness in Portland in one year. Only difference to NYC’s plan is that we would have to make it mandatory. So much for finding a new solution for the sit-lie ordinance.

Can we institute such a program in Oregon to get rid of the state legislature and Governor Klug?

Just bought my cheap one-way ticket to New York, after about a week, I'll show up at a shelter, and get my ticket home.
