Another Sam-Rand deal slapped down

The Great Compromise on the Made in Oregon sign has been rejected by the Portland Historic Landmarks Commission. The future of the sign (and adjacent water tower) has thereby been plunged into uncertainty. One thing seems highly likely, however: There will be some new members on that commission before too long.

At least Randy's recusing himself (wink, wink). If he hadn't fought so hard against duct-tape and spray-paint, there's just no telling what might have happened.

If they could take down that dopey rose he put up in Tom McCall Waterfront Park, that would be a bonus.

Looks like that dopey rose is all there is for Randy's legacy.

They should put a small neon rose on each of the Portland Loos that gets built. There's a legacy for you.
