I think CA is a great place to due experiments of this type. The faster that place slides into the ocean the better.

Many years ago I was in Denver visiting family one summer when there was a significant earthquake. Denver had several earthquakes until the Rocky Mountain Arsenal stopped using two to three mile deep wells to inject contaminated water into.
