And the author writes,
"First, conservative activists are crazy and gullible."
This is petty stuff to draw such a sweeping judement from.
For a really historically huge demonstration of "crazy and gullible"
look at liberals and the lengthy list of their observations they believe are caused by global warming, which hasn't even occured yet.
Every single suggestion of some connection to AGW is immediately accepted and repeated with alarms of urgency to adopt insane costly policies which will do nothing to effect climate.
The first 3 commenters so far have missed the real point (besides "InTheStimulus" pulling off a great creative public guerrilla comedy event out of the midst of the miasmic Wonderland of the U.S. capital).
It is worth reading, note esp.:
"First, conservative activists are crazy and gullible. [relax, that's more comedy]
But second, be careful of what you read and believe on Twitter. I think some of the leeway granted to InTheStimulus is based on the soundbite nature of the site; people can get away with no citations, which is less likely than with a conventional blog. And be careful, because if I could do InTheStimulus, a conservative could do a Twitter feed tricking us.
In any case, I think it's really funny.
Update:
Wow, I wasn't expecting this to get noticed again. The InTheStimulus account doesn't exist any more. After this diary, some conservatives noticed it and spread around the word that it was a hoax. This [link] is a surprisingly level-headed response by one of my followers...."
Shortly after I clicked on the link and saw that it was the Daily Kos I pretty much knew it wasn't worth my time. I tried to read more than 5 paragraphs but couldn't ... these guys are the National Enquirer of the cyber-world.
Actually, that's not being fair to the National Enquirer.
My father-in-law is a serious, serious right wing conservative. I can't even begin to tell you how many emails he's forwarded to me that contain some absolutely made up story about democrats/liberals/Obama. A couple of quick searches on legitimate websites usually debunks it or shows that there was a grain of truth in the email. One particular one he sent me last week asked me to sign a petition and forward it on to my friends and contacts. By the time it had reached me it had over 1800 names on it. I quickly looked it up on snopes.com and one other website and discovered that it was a petition (also fake) from two years earlier where they had just substituted Bush for Obama. Every single time I correct him or show him that it's fake I never hear back from him. He either doesn't believe me or he's to lazy to bother checking and thinks that I'm contradicting him because I sit on the other side of the aisle from him. So, this post doesn't surprise me in the least.

Exactly. Another lefty fairy tale. And to think, in the 70s they were all in a tizzy over "global cooling."

This story is not amazing by any means. It is actually not worth the time it takes to read it.

Sad excuse for journalism doesn't quite cover it.
