Plot thickens -- slightly -- in Chasse killing case
The Multnomah County district attorney's office says it's looking into the apparent change of story by Portland police officer Christopher Humphreys concerning the senseless killing of James Chasse a couple of years ago. If Humphreys is proven to have lied to investigators, he could face police discipline and even criminal charges.
But before getting too excited, consider that the Multnomah d.a.'s office is a complete black hole when it comes to police wrongdoing. They never find fault with the men in blue, no matter how egregious the misconduct.
I hope Obama gives Oregon a U.S. attorney who won't be afraid to come in and break up some of the gangs that run this town. Or maybe Kroger will do something.

Cops being punished,in Portland....surely you jest.
Not since the Biker incident, way back in history, have Portland cops been punished.
Even death in the lock-up goes without justice. And when a sort of slap-on-the-wrist does happen the guilty get a retirement with full wages.
From crooked sheriffs to killer cops Portland has a blind eye.

"... maybe Kroger will do something ...."
Or maybe not. Absolutely he should.
This might be a litmus test in this, Jack. You've had face time with Kroger, I've had face time with him, and in it we can judge of character. So far, U & I oppositely judge him, it seems.
Place our bets, and roll the tumblin' dice.

Wow, Jon, it must be amazing to have a mentally ill sibling that you have been able to help so well, when so many other families struggle or are even destroyed by the mental illness of one of their members. I hope you'll share some of the strategies that have worked so well in your family.

The plot has significantly thickened in a similar notorious incident from Sandy, Oregon.

The Multnomah County DA's office is a black hole for EVERYONE! Whether you are a victim, criminal, or something in between it is a very poorly run organization, that no doubt has major corruption happening.

Hey, don't sell the Washington County DA's office short when it comes to free passes for the boys in blue. I always love when when either office puts out that famous letter after a police brutality incident - the one where they tell us they're so sure the officers did nothing wrong that the refuse to let a grand jury get within a country mile. At least Clackamas County had the cojones to put that Irish man's shooting facts to the people.
