See the glory
The Reign of King Henry Paulson is turning out to be quite the royal scam. He hands out hundreds of billions of our kids' tax dollars to the big banks with no strings attached, and we're all supposed to light a candle and hope that they start making loans again. And guess what -- they aren't going to. They're going to buy up smaller banks with the billions -- bailing out the shareholders of the target companies -- and then the big boys will pay dividends on their own stock, making their own shareholders richer. And no end to the executive bonuses, of course.
I keep reading that they're training an Army unit to serve as a domestic riot squad. If the American people ever actually figure out what the banksters have pulled off during the last five years, that is going to be Pentagon money well spent.

Traditionally the National Guard has performed the riot control function.
The Guard is on edge because it has been used and abused with repeated lengthy deployments of its citizen soldiers. I am sure that the Pentagon questions the Nat. Guard's loyalty in a scenario where they would be put in a position where they would have to point their bayonets at members of their own community. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if they end up developing their own domestic riot SS brigade, especially because Bush has had no qualms whatsoever ignoring the traditional limits of federal power.

This guy is a bigtime gangster. This was the biggest bank robbery in United States History. Quite the deal that King Henry has 555 MILLION of his OWN money in Goldman! Also amazing that Buffett sinks a few BILL into Goldman. We are SHEEP...we just follow. This is so much larger than us...congress...or the President.

Paulson has been criticized by some of the leading economists for being a day late and a dollar short (or billions and trillions of dollars short, actually). Instead of taking action for the benefit of the country, he seems to be playing politics by delaying the new stimulus package Bernanke and others insist is necessary. But doing that would undercut McCain's message that Obama is a Socialist, wouldn't it?
What I don't understand is why members of Congress aren't calling for Paulson's head. Maybe a public outcry will stimulate Congress to do whatever it can to get Paulson out.

Strange that the real banks and saving and loan banks were controlled by CRA "Community Re-investment Act" and have only a 3% default record. But the Paulson groups are the one's that ran away away from regulation and there default rate is in the high 90's and are scooping up all the Fed money. My Dad was so right: "There ain't No Justice".

Bill had Hillary to tackle the medical system. Will Michele be Obama's point woman on the financial crisis?

Scare em, then fleece em. The mantra of the Bush legacy.

A week or so ago the Eureka Times Standard had an article about the activation of the 1st Brigade- 3rd Infantry Division that has been trained and activated for domestic use.
