What's the deal in Yakima?

Eastern Washington has some great wines. So how could something like this happen?

Note to self:

  • I read the entire story
    and then realized the writer
    was writing about himself!
  • Maybe they're conservatives. After all, the laws don't apply to them...

Maybe they thought they were in a McMenamins-style establishment?

This is the kind of thing you are forced to do in Yakima for entertainment. Living in a place like that is like having a white hot knife jabbed into your eyeball 24/7. Sad but true...trust me on this one.

The puritanical attitudes we have toward booze in the U.S. are insane.

The amount of $$ govts spend to keep booze out of the hands of 18-20 yr olds, regulating where and when it can be consumed etc. could be put to better use like more funding for rehab programs.

I mean the OLCC tried to ban beer gardens a few years back saying shows/venues should either be all over 21 or completely dry.

Yeah, kind of funny, but most movie theaters are happy to bust you just as fast for bringing your own water/coffee/food.
