So what's the October Surprise going to be?

A missile attack on Iran?

Although I personally think he's dead, now that our troops have invaded Pakistan, they'll finally "find" Bin Laden.

A missile attack on Iran would turn the middle east into a ball of fire. US military installations in the gulf would be at risk along with 1/5 of the world's oil supply. They'd also start another proxy war with Israel and send their operatives in Iraq and Afghanistan to wreak havoc.

Does anyone else find sending supplies to Georgia via Battleship a bit provocative? I mean don't we have freighters sufficient to do the job? Me thinks Cheney wants to go out with a bang rather than a whimper.

Iran is on my short list. Also on my short list: Russia, Pakistan, Venezuela, Syria, Sudan, North Korea.

Putin and Palin had a love child.

It was widely reported this week that the Dutch have removed all staff from Iran in anticipation of an attack. Maybe a September Surprise ?

"don't we have freighters sufficient to do the job?"

You do understand it's a war zone, right? While I'm sure Halliburton would love to expand their operations to Georgia, I suspect it would be a tad more expensive.

I personally think he's dead

I'd be seriously interested in knowing how such thoughts come to be formed.

it's a war zone

JF, I think that was in fact genop's point (although it's not clear to me that there are in fact active hostilities now). Personally, I can't imagine anything potentially more expensive than delivering "supplies" by battleship.

Obama will be down by 8 points by Halloween.

Well, some people will be surprised.

Do you often imagine things "impersonally"?

RE: October Surprise?

Jack acknowledges that Obama is an empty suit, and announces his intent to vote "present" on election day.

Mike

I know it's a little nuanced for some, but it seems that when the Govt. announces that it is sending millions in humanitarian aid, and not for munitions, then you contract with the Red Cross to handle logistics. If instead you want to bluster back to the twitchy Putin, you send humanitarian aid by battleship. Hey, put some lipstick on that pit bull.
