That was a great game, but am I just an old fogey when it comes to talking about no-hitters. I remember listening to games broadcast by the likes of Vin Scully and he never mentioned that a no hitter was in progress, though he would use some creative language to hint about it. But the Mariners announcer was talking no-hitter since the 5th inning on. Talk about a jinx.
I saw Morrow throw for Tacoma at PGE Park a few weeks ago. He was simply electric, throwing 98 mph consistently. The Beaver batters had a tough time doing anything against him. He was on a pitch count in that game too. Unfortunately he hit his limit, whatever it was, in the the 5th inning and didn't get a chance to get the W. A shame. Anyway, he's going to be a good one.

The question is . . . will Riggleman let him go 9 innings?

Of course.

I knew I was going to jinx it just by listening to the radio...

Nice game for that kid, anyway.

BTW, the Mariners' TV announcers provided all the jinx the Yankees needed.
This was the guy's first major league start. You can't expect him to throw nine, and as he got into the eighth, his killer sinker started hanging.
Great fun, though. First baseball game I actually sat up and watched all year.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. I. Love. Vin. Scully.
