More Merkley killers

You talk about an uphill climb. Did you know that the Udall boys, members of a storied Democratic family and both running for the U.S. Senate, are endorsing Gordon Smith -- because he's their dang cousin? I am not making this up. Poor Jeff.

wow...what is it with Merkley that he cant even get Dems to vote for him? Is he really that bad? Must be something hidden away...

Jon,

I think yours might be the most absurd concern Troll comment I've ever read on this site.

Perhaps you have something to hide since you didn't include your last name and email...

Jack,

I gave the article a quick read, and while it mentions Gordon Smith as a distant cousin of the Udalls, I didn't see anything about an endorsement.

the Udalls say they are pulling for Mr. Smith due to their blood connection

That's an endorsement, in my book.

In the 60's while I was going to the University of Oregon I worked construction in Portland during the summers and breaks. At that time, it was rumored that the construction of the Fremont bridge was compromised by the accidental dumping of excess concrete hardener into one of the piers holding up the bridge.

Have any of the old timers who worked construction in that era heard the same rumors and what would be the effect if it is true, say in an earthquake? Is the bridge safe?
