I’ve always believed that there is only one good thing about extremists: They don’t know when to stop.

Shorter Thomas Friedman:
"I had a thought. If this thought is true, that will be good news. Now don't get too excited yet, because while this good news does indeed appear to be true, there are many unknown things in the future. The future will, however confirm that I was about as right about this as I could be. Let's hope and pray that my thoughts are true."

The French didn't seem too humiliated with their assisted liberation in WWII. Friedman is slipping badly.
