Just another day at the office
My Nephew the Poker Player still has chips and has made it to the second day of a no-limit hold 'em event at the World Series of Poker. This one is a $1,500 buy-in, with a top prize of around $600,000. (The biggest event in the tournament, the world championship, starts on July 3.)
With $72,500, he's 25th in chips out of 187 players left after the first day, which means he'll definitely win some money. Play picks up again today at 2.
May the day bring him many A-J suiteds.
UPDATE, 6/21, 10:43 p.m.: He won $4,008 on a $1,500 buy-in in this particular tourney. No doubt he's staying in Vegas until the main event, and so we'll see if we can keep track of him (never easy) from now 'til the end.

He's gone, in less than a couple of hours on the second day. But it will be interesting to see where in the money he winds up. It looks like he already won $6,700 a couple of weeks ago.

Since when do they let you listen to earphones while playing poker?

I was wondering about not only the earphones, but the glasses as well. Certainly, they must screen for techno cheaters.

I believe the glasses are fairly standard equipment these days. They prevent other players from reading one's eyes.
