Sho love, less attitude
No matter how you feel about the Portland mayor's race, those who groove on R&B, blues, and jazz from the Rose City will want to take note of this campaign benefit for Mr. Dozono tonight at Jimmy Mak's. If we weren't looking at several solid weekends of babysitter action right in front of us, we'd be there. No doubt they will hit it and quit it.

Curtis Salgado is the original Blues Brother! Some may not know that he gave John Belushi the idea for the Blues Brothers persona. Learn more about the story at curtissalgado.com
Be on the lookout for a new CD coming out in June from Curtis Salgado. He is the man! Here's a clip of Curtis performing a classic. Enjoy!

I'm seeing a lot of Sho blue lawn signs in my neighborhood. There are also a number of the "Burger King" like color Adams lawn signs out too. Smells like a runoff in November. At least we get some competition on the Mayorial side.

A runoff would be nice, but I don't think the "lesser known" candidates are going to make enough of a dent to keep Sam the Tram from getting his 50%, just like Sten did. Ick.

Of course, lesser-known candidates in Sten's 2006 race got over 20% of the vote, and Sten still kicked Burdick's butt all the way back into the West Hills. The over-under is whether Dozono beats Burdick's 27.25%. I think so, but I'll be quite surprised if he gets to 40%. I'm guessing between 35-40%.

^ That's a pretty generous guess, coming from a Sam Adams fanboy :)
