I'm not in Grampy's Fave 5

The mayor's throwing a leadership summit, and I'm not invited. A reader who was invited, however, has stooped down to show us commoners what the invitation looked like.

Lucky Portland!!!

"The day will begin with keynote speaker Svend Auken, First Vice President of the Danish Parliament and leader in bringing Denmark to a more sustainable future."

Here's Sustainable:

100,000 hours of delay

Today it is difficult to pass the throngs of vehicles in the afternoon, and problems are also occurring at other times of the day. The situation is becoming so severe that traffic congestion is causing an estimated 100,000 hours of delays daily across the Greater Copenhagen area.
These are the conclusions of Project Congestion, the first major research project to study Copenhagen's sometimes chaotic traffic. For the first time, automated and manual traffic counts have been combined with speed measurements from Global Positioning System receivers installed in 400 cars.

Back to the Portland Summit

"Note: Portland Plan: Leadership Summit speeches and expert panel discussions will be videotaped to assist with future community discussions. Space will be available for those not wishing to be seen on tape."

Hey a special invite to Greg McPherson!

The situation is becoming so severe that traffic congestion is causing an estimated 100,000 hours of delays daily across the Greater Copenhagen area.

I hear your candidate John McCain likes it there. Ha! Ha!

Great,
Amnesty, Global Warming, Denmark?

That loud sucking sound is democrat votes being drawn his way in November.

Based on all the hot air that will be rising over the Convention Center that day, maybe there is something to man-caused Global Warming after all.

Wish someone would hold an essay contest, with the prize going to the best composition using oxymoron and Portland Leadership Summit in the same sentence.

Maybe the First VP of the Parliament will get an opportunity to mention that Copenhagen has turned much of their bus agency over to private firms and has seen an improvement in services. I'll see if I can find the article later.
