Neck and neck and neck and neck

The balloting in the infernal "Candidates Gone Wild" straw poll is going right down to the wire in the wide-open Portland City Council race among Charles Lewis, Amanda Fritz and others. There are four candidates fighting for two of the three slots on the stage at that event, and the voting ends in about three hours.

To me, the whole thing is silly -- they ought to let all six candidates up onto the stage in that race -- but obviously, the contenders and their supporters think otherwise. If, like I, you think Lewis deserves a spot on that stage, he needs your help now, here.

UPDATE, 4/10, 12:06 a.m.: It appears that he has made it, by a narrow margin, pending a check to see if the votes cast were legitimate.

GO CHUCK GO!!!!

OK, I voted for Lewis and he is 1 vote ahead of Brannam.

The "undervote" on the Mayor's race is either:

a). an sign of cheating in the Commissioner #1 seat poll.

b). a bad omen for Sam Adams, the presumptive leader.

I dunno. Since the other two races weren't even close, I think the last-minute voters probably focused on the only one that still was -- seat no. 1.

Too bad, mayb Citizen Smith has to go back to his job fixing computers instead of inflicting his visions on us.

If this stays close, watch for all the dirty tricks from Adams (not that I am convinced Dozono is that much of an improvement) and Middaugh. They need to protect the franchise.

Jack,

Thank you for your support! It looks like the "Bojack Bump" helped put us over the top!

Charles

No kidding, Steve. I'm thoughly uninspired by both Sho and Sam. Neither has the responsible record the city needs. I might just sit this one out.

Mysteriously the voting has opened up again. Looks like the folks at the WWeek and the Bus didn't get the group of candidates they wanted the first time...
