My wife and I will be having our own memorial this evening, playing "Kitty's Back" and "Sandy" and other songs featuring Danny. This is beyond sad.

My condolences to all concerned. I see Bruce and the E Street Band are scheduled to play in Florida tonight. That's going to be one heavy concert.

The concerts that were to take place in Florida this weekend have been postponed. My guess is that the first concert they do play after this will be one for the books. Bruce and the band will give Danny a proper send-off.

Here's a blurb I just read today at lunch when I was perusing the April 3, 2008 issue of Rolling Stone magazine:
"IN BRIEF: E Street Band keyboardist Danny Federici - who left the Bruce Springsteen tour in November to undergo treatment for melanoma - may return to the stage soon. "It's miraculous," E Street guitarist Steven Van Zandt says. "I talked to him last week and he sounds great. We are expecting to see him back, hopefully within a month or two." -

Please check out Danny's statement about Melanoma. Also, there's an account on this site from his son about how Danny ended up playing at with the band one last time several weeks ago.
