Y'all have fun
Congratulations to the Oregon Ducks men's basketball team on its undeserved invitation to the NCAA national tournament. I don't know which would be more fun: watching them lose in the first round to Mississippi State, or watching them get thoroughly annihilated in the second round by Memphis. Mississippi State will be 220 miles from home; Memphis, 136 miles. From Eugene to Little Rock is 1,755 miles.

The dreaded Ducks had some good games early in their schedule. Maybe Kent can discover what he's been overlooking.

I'll be pulling for Portland State. Am I crazy to think they have a chance?

Yes.

Jack,
You root against against all underdogs or just Oregon? And any other teams you're looking forward to watching get "annihilated"?

It's perfectly fine to admit you're wrong sometimes. Nobody will think any less of you.
Like how you're hedging your prediction by saying this woefully undeserving team might be annihilated in the second round by a #1 seed. Way to go out on a limb!

Oregon has a .500 inter-conference record and is 18-13 overall in the PAC10, which has three ranked teams (arguably the third most competitive in the nation). Arizona has a worse record and they made it in. There just wasn't much parity in the NCAA this year.
Hardly scandalous. A non-professional basketball team gets to live out some of its dreams at the big dance. You must love to read Dwight Jaynes' Blazer bashing column. Save your piss and vinegar for the VOE abusers and free-spending politicos. Go Ducks. Go Pac-10. Go Vikings.

Remember, Jack, I'm still running a pick 'em that you narrowly lost last year. Ready to lose again? ;-)
But yes, Go Pac 10, Go Ducks, Go Vikings! I think that Oregon should make it to the 2nd round, I just don't think they have a prayer against Memphis. And while I love the Viks, that game is going to get messy.

Mississippi State will be close to home, and wins a lot of games. It should be a good 8-9, and statistically, the 9 usually wins.
Memphis will be bloody.
