Standing on one leg

A while back I blogged a little about this person. If you've got 20 minutes, her recent talk was pretty interesting:

Interesting. Come together to draft a "compassionate ethos" in the form of a charter. Done in conjunction with the United Nations. New commandments, but perhaps in the form of prescriptions rather than prohibitions. She ties all religions to the golden rule. Advocates subjugating ego to compassion for others. She brings to real life the biblical passage "love thy enemy" to counsel not only tolerance but appreciation for others/enemies. Her hope is that the fulmination of a charter will provide a common fount from which religious ideals might be reclaimed. Thought provoking. Well worth the 20mins. Thanks for lunch Jack.
