"Clean money" follies: Did Sam request a Sho-down, too?
We got an odd e-mail from the City of Portland just now. It links to this -- a formal notice of next Monday's fun "voter-owed elections" hearing down in Tualatin on the continuing assassination attempt against mayoral candidate Sho Dozono. But it was the rest of the brief e-mail notification that got our attention (bold type is our addition):
NOTICE OF IN-PERSON HEARING 3/12/2008Did Sam the Tram file a request today for a hearing against Sho?OAH Case No.: 800420 (Certification Hearing, decision of City Auditor to certify Sho Dozono; does not include Request for Hearing filed by Sam Adams on 3/12/2008)

Apparently so.
Let's see... the media and public figure out that these challenges by fringe candidates really were instigated by Sam... so Sam needs some way to make it look otherwise... bingo! He comes in at the end with his own complaint and acts as though (a) it really wasn't his doing, but (b) the fringies do have a point.
Bruce Broussard as the whistle-blower on "clean money"? Given the fact that a judge has stated that he ought to be in jail for what he did in the last city election, well, that's comedy.

No surprise.
This guy's disdain for us knows no bounds.
Too bad he hasn't had a "Spitzer moment".
Yet.

When Sam Adams is removed from public office Portland should throw a party.

Yes, Sam has filed for the review. Well, at least he doesn't have surrogates doing it for him this time.

The minions must have failed to dot their I's and cross their T's.

I think Sam is really worried. There was a Trib article a few weeks back that had him holding about 42%, Sho like 27%, and the rest undecided. That was before the Potter endorsement and Potter is still popular with much of Sam's base.
With the economy going like it's going, if Sam doesn't win a majority in the primary, his tax and spend policies (a world inside Sam's skull where there are no business cycles, only unlimited growth to base his bond issues upon) are not going to help him in November when the economy is really in the tank. He's also got his ego on the line, he can't back out now, because it will haunt him in four years if he decides to cling to his commissioner chair.
