Interesting piece in yesterday's Times about Joe Biden. I thought I knew all about the guy, but about a third of it was news to me.

Biden's great. He's like the ultimate political gaffe machine. All that stuff he said about Obama being clean and sweet-smelling - classic! I wish he could run for President every single year.

I was surprised that he popped up as my "candidate of choice" when I ran this little exercise:

Suprised me that Obama was in the top three after Mcain and Giuliani when I took the "candidate of choice" exercise. Joe Biden always struck me as a preening peacock who always knew he was right.

The little exercise is kind of nice in that it strips away our media enhanced images of candidates to see what their stated stances are. (Of course nothing prevents any of these folks from changing their positions later.)

I'm kinda surprised that Biden is my candidate also, based on the survey. I think the survey left out a couple of key issues that probably would have dramatically changed the result: gun control and nuclear power.
