Speaking of tax reform

Here's a potential gold mine for Portland and Oregon.

Too many improper jokes come to mind to risk posting, Jack.

The best part is when they tried the tax the first time, the money was earmarked for schools! Classic!

Hey! Maybe we can have more school days!

Not if they're outlawed first.

Not gonna happen. Strip clubs and Oregon are like peanut butter and jelly.

Mmmmm.....jelly.

I have to agree with Richard..

Stripping was deemed "freedom of speech" by the legislature...its not going anywhere. And strip clubs are not showing up in neighborhoods. If anything, condos are showing up where strip clubs and adult bookstores are already located, and the new condo owners are upset. But thats their problem. Dont build condos there and then expect the neighborhood to change for you. Its kinda like moving near the airport of the raceway.
And honestly, I think the biggest reason people dont like strip clubs or adult stores near where they live is because they dont want their friends or neighbors to see them go into them.

I've heard that Master Randy and Sam the Tram are mudwrestling to see who gets naming rights to Portland's Pole Tax. If you can tax it, they'll find a way.

Great, destroy another industry...

I was hoping there would be a better picture section with that link.

"Dont build condos there and then expect the neighborhood to change for you. Its kinda like moving near the airport of the raceway."

I recall that the condo folks in the Pearl were Shocked to find there were trains and large postal trucks in "their" neighborhood!!

Only 150 strip clubs in Texas?! That can't be true.

"In what some have dubbed the "pole tax," the Lone Star State will require its 150 or so strip clubs to collect a $5-per-customer levy, with most of the proceeds going to help rape victims. The tax goes into effect on New Year's Day."
