Today Stanford beat Southern Cal -- in football.

Men's football.

American men's football!

My wife, a USC alumni and proud, obnoxious Trojan fan, was absolutely astonished.

So was I, but in a far more pleasant manner.

Being a San Jose State grad, I'm not feeling so bad about our annual loss to Stanford this season. It's looking like the Cal-Stanford game will be a bigger deal than anybody imagined.
