We kind of screwed ourselves when Clinton gave China most favored nation status, then we lost all control.
Too bad, if we had a bigger tarriff on Chinese goods, the Chinese would pay it without raising prices just to keep market share.
Too late now though - With all of thsoe stockpiled dollars, all they'd have to threaten to do is dump them all at once and force the currency in the tank.
