I see uniformed guys on these things downtown almost every day, often near Pioneer Place.
What's wrong with good old WALKING? From my observations, the additional exercise could do some of these glorified, Glock-toting rent-a-cops some good.
I'm sure the city will get sued after one of these guys falls off his Segway, or an innocent civilian or homeless person laying on the sidewalk gets run over.....

But it's such a good way for a city employee to get to his/her Smart car . . . .

The Segway is sort of the electric toothbrush of personal transportation.
