I think that's a little harsh. And so does Mr. Cuban. Stern has earned the right to take a swing at getting this turned around and getting it right. It's not going to happen this weekend. It will probably take several weeks to figure out the proper course of action. Unlike the NFL/Vick situation, the NBA has time. Stern has a tremendous opportunity here. I think he'll seize it.

To do what? Lots of folks knew this guy was on the take -- he was the league's third-highest ref in games that beat the over/under. He's an arrogant jerk. But he kept right on calling games -- just like the clowns who were cheating on their income taxes with league expense money.
Now as Stern's flirting with Las Vegas, along comes this. Who knows how many other officials may be involved? Just for appearances, if nothing else, it's time for a new face at the top.

BTW, the market value of Cuban's NBA franchise took a seven-figure hit today -- maybe eight. Sure he's going to tell you everything's fine, just keep buying season tickets.

I saw a little bit in the "O" this a.m. where the mayor of Las Vegas actually said that this referee scandal will increase the odds that the city will land an expansion team. The reasoning goes that because gambling is so heavily regulated in Nevada something like this would never happen! HHHmmm...I'm trying really hard to wrap my mind around that one, but it's just not sinking in for some reason.

There are two others worse then him? They're on the take too? Should we go after the top-five? Ten? Vegas lines should determine who's a good official and who's not? Please.

...worse than him...
So that's why the state won't let me drive without my glasses on. Good to know.

Stu Jackson needs to go too. Officials and officiating is under his purview, and, while problems in that area predate him, his own tenure hasn't been a pretty picture to behold.
And Las Vegas was not ever going to be getting an NBA franchise.

And Las Vegas was not ever going to be getting an NBA franchise.
I think it's safe to say that All-Star weekend put a permanent end to that idea.

I take it all back.
