Weird, I just had the same thought about Oden and Aldridge. With the broken hand last year, I don;t know if we've ever seen him at top level against good competition.

Sam Bowie? You put up a pic of Sam Bowie???
Oh no.

It's a little early to raise the thought that we are on a Sam Bowie-like run here. I actually am glad he's skipping Summer League in case he got injured doing that.
At some point, you have to go with the basketball gods and hope for the best. Remember, even the great Michael Jordan broke his foot one year, and if that hadn't healed right, the fact that we didn't take him wouldn't have been as big a deal.
I say let Oden have his time with as little pressure as possible. He's 19, and we don't want to hurt our own chances of having a good result by burdening the young man with a Sam Bowie comparison so soon.

Wow. That's a real Bowie-esque bubble boy perspective.

"... the thought that we are on a Sam Bowie-like run here," is matched only by the thought that Sam Bowie-fates is the Blazer run here.
