The Jamison Fountain is on the blink
The popular fountain in the block-square park in the Pearl District is bubbling away today, but the feature that makes the water pool up and then gently recede isn't functioning properly. The Water Bureau is working on it, but in the meantime, you toddler parents all over town who take the wee ones to that place for a mental health break -- be forewarned.

Police are also investigating the possibility of what authorities are calling "empty nester sabotage"...

"Wee ones," is it? If so, they should be able to provide the necessary surge.

This park creeps me out. I was there on lazy afternoon last summer and was quite surprised to watch yuppie mother after yuppie mother strip their five year old children (and children older than that) out of their swim clothes and back in to street clothes right in plain view of everyone. Naked kids were everywhere, and a few of the boys thought nothing of "watering the grass" for everyones viewing pleasure. The whole place is a veritable Pee Pavillion.

Maybe when they planned a pool they should have included a modest bathroom. But then homeless people might use it, and hey, this is the Pearl District, Jim Jim!
