Looks good to them

Here's a piece on the Rose City out of Friday's L.A. Times. The print edition ran it under the headline "Wired for Weird."

I only got as far as the phrase "hilltop aerie" to describe the OHSU tram station at the top of its run, before my eyes glazed over and I went into convulsions and couldn't read anymore.

I shudder to think of the hyperbole that would have been penned had the writer been able to take Max to Ikea and wax poetic about trying to bring home one average sized trips worth of stuff from that store on public transit...

I too failed to make it all the way through. That style of writing is what might be called an exhaustive account of the superficial.

"...an exhaustive account of the superficial."

exactly.

yesterday at Powell's, i walked by a new $35,000 Subaru SUV with a "Keep Portland Weird" bumper sticker.

apparently, irony has left town and gone to live elsewhere.
