Jack, when I read your title, "Bush Administration Clown of the Month", I was certain this would be about Alberto Gonzales for his recent testimony about habeaus corpus before the Senate Judiciary Committee:
Specter: "Now wait a minute, wait a minute. The Constitution says you can't take it away except in the case of invasion or rebellion. Doesn't that mean you have the right of habeas corpus?"
Gonzales: "I meant by that comment that the Constitution doesn't say that every individual in the United States or every citizen has or is assured the right of habeas corpus. It doesn't say that. It simply says that the right of habeas corpus shall not be suspended."
While your pick is clearly worthy of the honor, is it possible to have Co-Clowns of the Month? After all, the Bush administration is vast and there are only so many months. I know Alberto Gonzales has had many other chances to win the honor before, but this recent comment really sums up why he is such a dangerous little punk.

Like I said, they make Nixon look like Truman. Dumb and mean.

While he sounds nutty, the author sure presents as the paradigm of objectivity from the start of the article. Great cite.

An op-ed in that paragon of objectivity, The New York Times, was on his case today. If I weren't such a conservative curmudgeon, I'd say he's a moonbat.
