The storm's nastiness became more apparent north of Eugene. East of Albany, there was some serious lightning going on. Around the corner from our house, there's a big power outage, which may or may not have contributed to a wicked-looking car wreck at NE 21st and Broadway. Yikes.
Hmmmm... it's probably because I was 20 years old (and therefore invincible) at the time, but my land speed record from the bay area to PDX was 8 hours, 15 minutes (from a friend's apartment in Alameda to a house on SW 2nd, off Terwilliger). Though we share taste in automobiles. My '91 Civic was a trooper.
