Government in action
Good news! Multnomah County's jail problems have been solved. The county commissioners are going to take a personal tour of the jails every year, and that will make the issues disappear. That's a relief.

That'll probably do about as much to solve the jail problems as it does when celebrities wear little ribbons at awards shows. Just think of all the diseases we've cured from awards show ribbons!

It was an especially nice gesture given that 40% of them will be leaving their positions in the next couple days and thus not need to set foot inside at all.

Make the "Issues disappear" oh yea, but what will it do for the "Problems" that remain.
