It's some sort of custom designed catamaran that was built in WA. There's more info here.

Hmmm... Looks to me as though it's built to have interchangeable loads.
It looks like they need to suspend whatever the load is, rather than just put a platform between the two floats.

Oh, and here I thought it might be a new-style ferry to get OHSU docs from the Eastside to the Westside. Wouldn't want those precious babies to have to cross the Marquam or Sellwood bridges from their Laurelhurst, Irvington, or Eastmoreland homes.

I've heard that the vessel will be attempting a new world record in circumnavigating the world by powered craft. It might make it.
