The 3-Variable Funny Test

LeLo in NoPo's got it goin' on. Her keen eye picked up this test, wherein I scored as follows:

Your humor style: CLEAN | SPONTANEOUS | DARK

Your humor's mostly innocent and off-the-cuff, but somehow there's something slightly menacing about you. Part of your humor is making people a little uncomfortable, even if the things you say aren't themselves confrontational. You probably have a very dry delivery, or are seriously over-the-top.

Your type is the most likely to appreciate a good insult and/or broken bone and/or very very fat person dancing.

PEOPLE LIKE YOU: David Letterman - John Belushi

I too scored The Cutting Edge... Letterman, Belushi, Bogdanski. I'm in good company...

How I love these timewasters... they're the perfect procrasination tool.

I am The Wit:

You like things edgy, subtle, and smart. I guess that means you're probably an intellectual, but don't take that to mean pretentious. You realize 'dumb' can be witty--after all isn't that the Simpsons' philosophy?--but rudeness for its own sake, 'gross-out' humor and most other things found in a fraternity leave you totally flat.

I guess you just have a more cerebral approach than most. You have the perfect mindset for a joke writer or staff writer.

Your sense of humor takes the most thought to appreciate, but it's also the best, in my opinion.

You probably loved the Office. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check it out here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/theoffice/.

PEOPLE LIKE YOU: Jon Stewart - Woody Allen - Ricky Gervais

Yeah, yeah...I'm a "wit" too. I think Jon Stewart is God...or at least god-like.

I probably lost "intellectual" points, though, 'cause I still think farting is the funniest thing around.

Think "Blazing Saddles" and the scene around the campfire after they'd had their beans for dinner...absolutely classic.

Huh -- you attract "wit" types, apparently, Jack. I'm one too. I was dubious about the merit of the questions, but in fact, I do love the BBC Office, Jon Stewart, and (old) Woody Allen, and in fact gross-out humor generally leaves me cold. So, they've got something.

Yeah, I think it's a pretty accurate test. Fun too, of course.

Apparently, I am "The Wit." Regarding question number twelve: does anyone on the face of the earth think Jay Leno is funny?

Only when he's telling jokes written by this guy.
