Did you notice that they took a girl into state custody? That's a dangerous thing... Have you all been reading the stories in the paper about how horrible DHS is about taking kids?
I'd like to see the facts on this story. I'm guessing this was a small-time operation in an otherwise normal (NORML?) family. As punishment, they will destroy this girl's life.
Maybe Tom Potter could "Vision" the tax revenues that would come from Portland being the first American city to "legalize it." We'd have the best funded public schools in the world, not to mention the huge shot in the arm this would give our pizza-delivery industry.
Legalizing and taxing weed could be the answer. Trouble is... I forgot what the question was.
Seriously, guys like this would be executed by a city government grown accustomed to the $$$ from taxing it.
It's one thing to grow an illegal substance; unless you're really blatant about it, you just get a nudge and a wink. If, however, you cheat the city (or any governmental entity) out of their dollar fix then God help you.

If by "they", you mean the parents, then you are correct. They are solely responsible for the outcome here. I will agree DHS is usually a bit heavy-handed, but when both parents are arrested, there isnt much choice where the kid can go if no family members step up.
This is why I will always hate cops. They are the enemy. To protect and serve big business should be their slogan. Marijuana is harmless. F*** PROHIBITION it doesn't work. The arrested parents are now political prisoners and their daughter is a victim of a corrupt system.

When will this senseless war end?

Biodiesel from marijuana. Your speedometer reads 80 but you're only going 40.
