Beating Mr. Template into submission
I think I have figured out and corrected what was screwing up the alignment on the main page of this blog. You Firefox and Safari folks, tell me if I'm wrong about that.
I learn something new every day. I even downloaded and ran Firefox in the process. Time for a little "superior dance."
Now onto the many other page templates. Nobody ever said it was going to be easy to recreate this thing. But I'd like to look good for unique visit no. 1,000,000, which by my calculations should arrive on Tuesday.

Great. As any web geek will tell you, the world of "div" is an awful world.

Looks great on both my PC and Mac in every browser I threw at it!

Music to my ears.

BTW, thanks to everyone who's been helping me deal with this over the last couple of days -- Food Dude, Pablo, Betsy, Bill McD., Ellie, Veiled, Scott K., Kai, Lynne, D.J., Jon, and Gil, and I've probably left somebody out.
As I get the other templates cleaned up, I'll ask for more feedback.

All right, I've also redone the "individual entry" pages. This means the page that you get when you click on the "Permalink" for any post. Let me know if you see anything amiss there.
That's it for tonight. I know the comment preview pages are quite bad. They're next.

Glad you're getting it back, Jack. Howcum a sophisticated computer user like you is new to Firefox?

Years ago I tried loading Netscape Navigator onto a Windows 3 computer. Nothing on the computer ever worked right after that. I resolved at that point to succumb to Internet Explorer.

Looks good on my Mac with Safari, Firefox, IE, Camino, and Opera.
Jack, don't torture yourself with IE. The world is a better place with any of the other browsers; I use Firefox the most on my work PC and Camino the most on my Macs.

Your blog looks peachy creamy today with Safari, Firefox and Flock in Mac OS 10.4.7. Last night there was a foot long blank space up top when I peeked here.

Yeah, it's Firefox or nothin'. IE is a spyware orgy...

Is there a prize for being the 1,000,000 visitor?

FYI, pictures (no dogs, Kulongoski) don't show in Firefox, not even as placeholders. When I opened in IE, Kerios Firewall treated the pictures as ads and refused to allow them to load. Had to shut off the firewall to see the pix. Mr Template is being defiant.

I'm running Firefox with an ad-blocker, and the pictures come through fine for me. I have heard of your problem from one other reader, however. And for some reason my images aren't showing up on ORblogs.
I don't think there's much I can do about it, but if anyone has an idea, please let me know.
