Which Oregon gubernatorial candidate's nasal, whining voice is more annoying: Jim Hill or Ron Saxton?
To me, Saxton's is like a nail on a chalkboard, narrowly edging out Hill's for this distinction.

It would be fun to see a debate where Eddie Murphy plays every candidate. Jim Hill's voice reminds me of the first Beverly Hills Cops and a scene outside of a wrought iron gate. Ron Saxton's got some apparent neck problem that makes his head tip back and to the side or something, and causes jerking . . . this just compounds the problem with the nasally whine. I can tolerate Hill's sound but not Saxton's combo problem.

Saxton's appearance was much more engaging when he wore the owl glasses. I have read that he underwent Lasik vision correction, and subsequently ditched the glasses. Too bad, because he could have leveraged all those Scott Thomason adds and visuals and nobody would have know the difference:
If you don't VOTE for me today, I CAN'T SAVE YOU ANY MONEY.

Finally, Ron, you and I agree on something. Everytime I hear Jim talk, the only thing I hear is the 'banana in the tailpipe' scene...

p.s. That's not a comment on anything other than the sound of Jim's voice.

Saxtons voice drives me nuts, my brother and I think hes up their with Kerry for wanting you to scratch a chalkboard or pass out.
But what drives me more crazy is Saxton saying "Im not the career politician" of course your not when you cant get elected.

Seems to me that the injection of Eddie Murphy and Beverly Hills Cops into the discussion of the way Jim Hill sounds when he talks is getting very close to calling Jim Hill something like the title character of a particular Harriet Beecher Stowe novel. Is that what's going on here? Consciously? Unconsciously?

It could be worse. I could call him a Stennie.

I not heard either. I think it's immaterial what their voice sounds like.
Abraham Lincoln was reputed to have a bad speaking voice, described as "high-pitched and nasal".
