It's more than 30 degrees cooler in Portland today than it was where we were yesterday. But look on the bright side: We have such a good base to work off for global warming.

You didn't have to travel to get the big temperature swing -- it was in the upper eighties right here in Portlland just last week.

It was nice in Portland when we left -- so much so that our neighbor offered to water our yard if it stayed hot and dry. She needn't have worried.
