Where were you in February 1986?

That's the last time it was this bad.

Ah yes. 1986. Clyde was an all-star. TP was here. As was Kiki. And the Blazers' first round draft pick that year? Walter Berry. Things would only get better.

Yes, indeed, they would get better. A lot better. From those dark days emerged that fantastic, fun team of the late eighties and early nineties. That was the last time I truly enjoyed the Blazers: evenings in college spent with friends, watching the games on television, listening to Bill Schonelly on the radio. My wife and I (dating then) used to plan our trips to the laundromat around Blazer games because we didn't have a TV, but the laundromat did.

I haven't listened to or watched a Blazer game in years. Maybe a decade. Paul Allen wants me to help him out? Give me a break. But maybe -- just maybe -- there's a bright horizon out there...

How bad is it for the Blazers? My wife and I each received emails today from the Rose Quarter CyberClub. Each message includes a voucher for two tickets to a Blazers game. Neither my wife or I belong to the Rose Quarter CyberClub. Isn't this like the Safeway Club card folks offering non-club card holders a voucher for free groceries just to get them in the door?

I was at the game Wed... on the plus side, Viktor Khryapa played his heart out. I'm starting to get on board with him - he was the only one I saw who consistently ran the floor and really played some defense.
