Mrs. Mayor

Karin Hansen, the wife of Portland Mayor Tom Potter, has started blogging. She's posted an entry on the city's official Women's History Month blog.

All together now: That's nice.

"That's A good thing" as Martha Stewart would say.

Gee, maybe she can put in a good word and get him, or someone on his staff to answer the letter I sent last July on transportation alternatives.
That would be unique.

Nice kimonos. Probably picked them up on a recent junket paid for by the poor suckers in this city. I sure hope they had a GREAT time.

The facts:
The kimono stayed in Sapporo. They just let us try them on.

The Sister City Association paid for Tom's ticket and Tom and I paid for mine.

The visit was a wonderful 3-1/2 days on the ground of relationship building with government, business and community. Each day we started early in the morning and finished late at night with 30 minutes downtime.

Some want to believe that the US exhists in a vacuum. It doesn't. If we figure that out we may not be doomed, afterall.

In most countries, relationships are considered important. If we figure that out we may not be doomed, afterall.

It was an experience I will always remember fondly, and the long-standing relationship between Portland and Sapporo is stronger.

Some of you just want to find something evil in everything, no matter how decent. I am sometimes guilty of that too, but it's something I am working on.
