The news as parable

There's a lesson to be learned somewhere in this story. (Via Jim Maule.)

UPDATE, 4:55 p.m.: The story wasn't true.

UPDATE, 1/11, 6:28 a.m.: But not that far-fetched, apparently.

The Message is:

1) God dosen't punish with a stick.
2) Hot mice don't play nice.
3) Let's see Ozzie Osbourn bite his head off.
4) God made all creatures, great and small. And God don't play that.
5) Surprise. The Good Hands Of Allstate homeowners policy doesn't pay for rodent induced fires.
6) Howard Dean blames the mouse abuse on "Right-wing religious zealots".
7) Local mice retain the Cochran Law Firm for wrongful death suit. A tearful Minnie Mouse cries uncontrollably at Press Conference announcing the million dollar suit. Minnie is surrounded by Donald Duck, Goofy and the Rev. Al Sharpton.
