Keep your powder dry

The Willamette River through Portland has turned that wicked brown color again -- the one that signals flood season. We're smack dab in the middle of a series of deluges that have us living up to our soggy reputation. I hope Vera told somebody where she stashed the sandbags when the water went back down in '96.

I don't need to look at the river or listen to weather report when the water starts rising in my basement, I know we are having some serious rain fall.

Gee - here in Eugene the Willamette river is CLEAR!

I think it picks up a lot of brown in Salem...

*snort*

Ah, the rainy season. Everything I own is under water, at least the outside stuff. The barn is flooded, the emu and horse pens are flooded, and there's a stream running through the pasture. Time to clear out the drainage ditches again. Oh well, at least it isn't cold out. ;-)

Personally, the way that they have messed this city up (not to mention this state), it wouldn't bother me to see the whole thing slide into the river so we can start over again.

Wow, happy new year to you, too, Mmmarvel.
