Time to recharge

Now and then, we need to stop burning the candle at both ends. This is such a time. See you in the morning.

Dear Jack,
This is a good stretch for me right now. I was on AM Northwest yesterday, and I anticipated a Kathie Lee-style crowd. Wrong! The place was packed with teenagers on a field trip, so just before air I completely rewrote my act. Then my column came out about Diane Linn in a new paper called “Northwest Meridian”, and I think it’s better than most of my 150 plus columns for the Portland Tribune. Then last night Leno used my joke, so I’m rapidly closing in (with the President’s help) on #500 on the Tonight Show. And with all that, the emotional highlight of the day, was reading your account of shaking hands with the Boss. It captured so much of the magic of being young, also seen in the faces of the crowd at Channel 2. This blog of yours is becoming one of Portland’s Best Things.
