Fifteen more minutes of fame
I linked to this story the other day. Just now I revisited the story and saw that it was linking me back in the "Who's Blogging?" box.
Does this mean I can tell my mom that I was quoted in the Washington Post?

As someone who has labored for years to impact the global media, if you can call writing comedy a couple of hours a day “labor”, I would describe it this way: The Jack Bog blog was mentioned on the Washington Post website. If it’s in the print version, then you’ve been in the Washington Post, although “quoted” is still a little strong. This is not to diminish what has happened. Your website has a national reach and it should just continue to grow. I keep a little list of milestones like this close to my heart: The first time something I wrote was on Imus, Larry King, or the Reuters website. As the kids say, “It’s all good.” By the way, if that is a picture of Fred Willard below, he also has delivered one of my jokes on national TV, but to bring that up would just be bragging.

I made a dumbass comment to your post, so you can tell your mom (in addition to hello) that I was also mentioned/quoted in the Washington Post, albeit with two clicks of separation. :0)

Too Bad the "O" doesn't have this service to link to independent blogs, then folks reading our City's news would get some balance to:
"South Waterfront's first buildings, an OHSU building and two condominium towers, are under construction now. The city plans to clear the Public Storage site next summer, but officials don't know when the park will be built. The total park cost is projected at $9 million, including $2 million for construction. Bebb said the city also must find money to pay ongoing operations and maintenance costs at the park.
"It's a good deal, and we should be celebrating this acquisition." -- City Commissioner Dan Saltzman
With the blogging string "Pig in the Poke" on October 4th that included:
" On that company's latest quarterly report filed with the SEC, it reports that it will book a $5 million profit on the Portland property (see page 13). Apparently, part of the "emergency" was that Public Storage had told its investors back in August that it expected to get its money by September 30."

Bill McDonald -
P L E A S E give it a rest, already. Yeah, we get that you write one-liners for some folks, but please stop beating us over the head with it.
