Above the fruited plain

A fellow by the name of Albert Kaufman has posted some spectacular aerial photos of Mount Hood and the Gorge. He took them yesterday, and declared them "public property" on BlueOregon last night.

Kaufman's aghast at all the development and logging going on up there. See for yourself.

I've recreated many times in the Gorse and at Mt. Hood.
I've flown over the area many times and found the area to be as these pictures show.
A pretty good balance of uses, conservation replant and overall sustainable looking.
So what's the problem?

Gorse?

My God he's right! The whole top half of Mt Hood is COMPLETELY FREE OF TREES!
