Why would Twisty automatically assume that Home Depot was purposefully ripping her off? Maybe it was a mistake - you know, the kind that happens with computers (and could probably have been easily resolved if she had just called the store). Sheesh, it's so easy to be a victim.
The cost to administer the gift cards is less than the interest Home Depot makes on the money. This practice, especially the lack of disclosure, should be outlawed.

I happen to know that she did ask the appropriate people at the store at time of the purchase.
