Double fantasy

For the second year straight, I've been killing time by participating in fantasy pro basketball. This year I'm in two different leagues put together by Tony Pierce of busblog fame. And this week, I'm proud to say, after seven weeks of competition, both my teams are in first place out of 16.

Did you select rapists, wife-beaters or druggies? Do the fantasy players receive extra points when their players choke a coach, or scream obscene profanities at fans?
What points do you get for Karl Malone trying to hit a big three pointer with Kobe's wife?

Can you show your line-ups? I am a NBA fan also (in spite of the off-court behavior.) Am always curious about how it compares to mine.

Gary: Yes, the reason my team is doing so well is that we're leading in FPO (fans punched out) and PV (probation violations).

Steve, here are my current lineups:

Ballers
D. Armstrong (Dal - PG)
S. Marbury (NY - PG)
J. Richardson (GS - SG)
D. Anderson (Por - SG)
W. Szczerbiak (Min - SF)
M. Sweetney (NY - PF)
B. Cook (LAL - PF)
S. Marion (Pho - F,SF)
Z. Ilgauskas (Cle - C)
L. Wright (Mem - C)
R. Nesterovic (SA - C)
D. Christie (Sac - SG)
P. Brown (NO - FC,PF)
T. Delk (Atl - G,PG)

Amgwana Kikbuti
S. Claxton (GS - PG)
J. Jackson (Hou - GF)
C. Billups (Det - PG)
K. Bogans (Cha - GF,SG)
P. Gasol (Mem - PF)
S. Marion (Pho - F,SF)
Z. Ilgauskas (Cle - C)
C. Robinson (GS - FC)
R. Nesterovic (SA - C)
Ja. Jones (Ind - SF)
D. Christie (Sac - SG)
P. Brown (NO - FC,PF)
M. Blount (Bos - C)

The leagues allow unlimited numbers of roster moves, and my "scrubs" (secondary players) have changed quite a bit. I'll make a couple of moves a week if injury or crummy play warrants.

I don't do fantesy basketball. I do baseball and football.

I'm not sure I like it though. I end up rooting for my favorite team to win by only a few points, with certain players on other teams gathering tons of stats.

Do you follow basketball close enough that you see anything similar?

dude youre kicking ass!

No Nowitzki? No Okur? Tony Parker? Get more Europeans -- they're the future! Nice Ilgauskas/Gasol/Nesterovic combo, though. You're right: I have not missed Ron "Thuggo" Artest and Stephen "Action" Jackson since unceremoniously returning them to the free agent pool. Today Artest is owned in merely 71.6% of ESPN.com fantasy NBA leagues, while Jackson (who returns to action in late January) is owned in 93.6%.

Do you bid on players and have to get certain positions or just pick them out of a groups and then add P, A and Rs? If so, there have to be a lot of cheap Indiana players.

The Derek Anderson pick is suspect, I mean he is a nice guy, but his shot left him a long time ago and there is plenty of talent at SG. I like the "I'm gonna kick booty" (sorry, I had to think about the name to figure it out) team.
